RISING LAKE LEVELS ALONG WITH HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS SHOULD LOSE GRIP AS COOLER CONDITIONS ENTER FORECAST
From this week’s fishing scene on Kentucky Lake come reports of changing lake levels in the aftermath of heavy rains both here and further south across the TVA valley. Yet TVA has really been spilling water through Kentucky Dam this week and created additional storage capacity that has absorbed a lot of the runoff from areas to our south that experienced flooding. Water conditions here are in pretty good shape.

Fall officially arrives next Tuesday and with it comes a transition for both anglers and hunters across Tennessee.
Already fall fishing patterns have been in the works as bass and crappie have moved toward shallow areas as surface temps respond to cool nights. the AGFC Arkansas Stream Team this Saturday, Sept. 12, at
the Ouachita River Sweep. The sweep is an effort to clean
and beautify the Ouachita River from Malvern to El Dorado.

CRAPPIE ACTION IMPROVES...BASS MOVING SHALLOW...LAKE LEVELS FALL SLOWLY ON
TVA'S DRAWDOWN CURVE
Kentucky Lake anglers are chalking up some pretty good stringers of
crappie and bass lately. Nice weather continues to work in favor of
fishermen who have seen light winds and moderate temperatures linger as
fall patterns arrive.

From this week’s fishing scene comes reports of successful bass and crappie anglers who thought recent conditions were more reflective of mid-September that mid-August. Last weekend’s low humidity courtesy of a light north wind made it feel like fall was arriving early.
Summer temps have returned but it was a nice deviation from the dog days as there aren’t many mornings in August when you need to wear a long sleeve shirt but that was the case on some early outings last week.
