You Pee, You Wear

Written by Jason White

The text messages were simple and easy to understand... something like "Dog pee on boots, dog wear boots". There's not much more aggravating or humorous than the relationship between a man and his retriever.

The Fifth Stage of My Hunting Life

Written by Richard Simms

It is official, certifide and bona fide... I am now in the Fifth Stage of my life as a hunter. Most may know of the five stages of life a hunter goes through, according to scientific researchers. I'll explain in full detail later, but first, the reason why I know that I am in the fifth and final stage. I have just returned from one of my periodic "hunting or fishing road trips."

This time I accompanied good friends Ross Malone, Ed McCoy and Keith McCutcheon to live for two days in a duck blind on Kentucky Lake. We were joined by more friends, Wilson Burton and Larry Richardson, and all hosted by another good friend, guide Steve McCadams.

More Nebraska Pheasant

The first pictures I sent was the road running by the hunting lodge and some
of the fields we were hunting.  I'm attaching some pictures.  As a matter of
fact, that afternoon as we were walking down that road to hunt the fields on
the right hand side, both the dogs we were working took a hard point just as
they got into the field.  The four of us hunting that patch were all still
standing in the road.  When the birds flushed - in three different groups
about two or three seconds apart - there were eleven birds total.  We were
so surprised at the number, about half of them got away.  Had a great time
and came back with twelve quart sized freezer bags with 3 - 5 breasts in
each bag. Add a comment Read more...

Nebraska Pheasant

Here are the fields we're hunting near Sargent, NE.  We've taken a lunch break after shooting 40 birds this morning.  Sky's clear now and sun's on the fields after 4 inches of snow last night.  When we started out this morning, it was heavy overcastt with temps in the low 40's and a 15 - 20 mph wind behind it.  Having a great time!
